   Patient Environment
  It is important to us that patients receive excellent medical care in the best possible environment and in surroundings that will promote recovery. We are therefore modernising and improving our facilities and services whilst maintaining our emphasis on high quality treatment and care. Some of the latest projects are described below plus developments on the horizon. Nuclear Suite We have just completed the construction of a nuclear suite which will enable the Hospital to provide an extended range of nuclear procedures, including some for which patients currently have to travel to the Region. The unit opened in April 2010. Developments beginning in 2010 2010 will see major projects to improve the facilities within the Hospital. The Hospital services will be extended with an improved waiting area, more clinical space, much improved facilities for services and better links between clinical areas. Added services will move into purpose built accommodation in the new wing. Starting in April this project will be complete and operational by August. The project has benefited hugely from the added services initiative which has received tremendous support from the local community. |
